London Heathrow frees 1,760 staff-hours a year with 34 cleaning robots
Challenge
45% of cleaners were agency staff with frequent absences, and manual tank emptying took 7 minutes a cycle, so quality and efficiency were inconsistent.
Deployment
From October 2022, 34 robots and 18 charging docks were deployed across check-in areas and airside.
Outcome
1,760 staff-hours freed a year, up to 80% of water recycled; reported net savings of £124,175 over five years with a 64% ROI.
