At BMW Spartanburg, Figure 02 loaded sheet-metal parts into welding fixtures for about 11 months

Challenge

Inserting sheet-metal parts into welding fixtures in the body shop was still done by people.

Deployment

After a few weeks of testing in 2024, Figure 02 loaded sheet-metal parts into welding fixtures; in June 2026 Figure 03 began sorting inbound parts onto sequencing trolleys.

Outcome

About 11 months of operation supporting production of 30,000+ X3s.
