Home Monitoring & Care Support

A robot keeps an eye on family members or elderly relatives living apart during the day and reports to an app. Transfer and walking assistance remain the domain of dedicated devices; robots mainly watch and talk.

Core functions
  • Patrols rooms, captures images, and notifies family via app
  • Daily interaction with face recognition and talk surfaces changes
  • Humanoid reminders for medication and schedules (trial stage)
Customer value
  • Check on relatives living apart without a phone call
  • More conversation for people living alone reduces isolation
  • Eases caregivers' worry during unattended hours
Check before deploying
  • Can the person and family accept always-on cameras and microphones?
  • Will fall detection and emergency calls be covered by separate sensors or services?

Selected Robots

Hand-picked for this work, with the reason each one fits. "PoC" marks robots to validate in a limited trial first.

25xbreak-room use

Yokohama Shuyukan High School puts LOVOT in its break room; usage rises 25x

Challenge

A public correspondence high school with students of varied ages and backgrounds wanted a place where students feel at ease.

Deployment

LOVOT was placed in the student break room, where students hold it between classes and it stays nearby during teacher meetings.

Outcome

Break-room use rose 25-fold; infrequent attendees came in to see it, and a selectively mute student greeted a teacher while holding it.
