Finished-car Yard · VLR
8km/day of walking replaced

Toyota's Motomachi plant automates moving finished cars in the yard with the VLR transport robot

Challenge

Drivers moving finished cars to the yard walked about 8 km a day back to the line.

Deployment

Slides under the car, lifts all four wheels, and drives autonomously with centimeter-level RTK-GNSS, adjusting to wheelbase and ride height; fleet-managed since September 2023.

Outcome

Replaces driver moves and the walk back with robotic transport.
