Nissan's Tochigi plant fully automates powertrain marriage and upward bolt tightening with robots
Fitting the motor, battery, and rear suspension and tightening bolts upward from under the body took six stations.
Workers set the units on a pallet; high-speed vision tracks the body in real time while robots marry the units and tighten bolts upward.
Six stations consolidated into one, handling gasoline, e-POWER, and EV models on the same line.
